Material selection and processing technology of rack directly determine its strength, wear resistance, accuracy and service life. Common rack materials include medium carbon steel, alloy structural steel, cast iron, etc. Engineering plastics are also used in some light-load scenarios. Medium carbon steel rack has good comprehensive performance, moderate strength and stable toughness, suitable for most general transmission scenarios; alloy structural steel has improved wear resistance and fatigue strength after heat treatment, suitable for heavy-duty and high-frequency operation equipment.
Cast iron rack has good damping performance and low operating noise, mostly used in equipment requiring vibration control. Rack processing generally includes forging, cutting, gear milling, grinding, heat treatment, accuracy testing and other processes. Precision rack will improve tooth profile accuracy and surface finish through grinding. Mature processing technology and strict process control can improve the dimensional stability and meshing performance of rack and extend service life.
